The Russian, Eastern & Oriental Fine Art Fair
The Russian, Eastern & Oriental Fine Art Fair launched to great success on the 9th June 2010 when over 1300 visitors attended the Royal Preview. The Fair was opened by TV art critic, Andrew Graham Dixon in the presence of HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO and resulted in some substantial sales. The mood was heightened by the arrival of buyers fresh from an earlier sale of Russian works at Sotheby’s looking for new additions to their private collections. The evening saw a delighted Tanya Baxter / Kings Road Gallery selling two key works from the ‘Mother Teresa Series’ by the living master of Indian art, M.F. Husain and reserves on work by Pip Todd Warmoth. Other participating galleries reported multiple reserves and strong interest with Albemarle Gallery expecting to sell all their paintings by Russian artists Elena & Michel Gran.
Strong attendance throughout the week, coupled with a Charity Gala Evening on Friday (attended by over 800 visitors) saw good business achieved by many of the participating galleries.
"Very well organised and well attended. Both the Private View and the Gala Night exceeded my expectations. Compared to other similar events, this fair was done to the highest standards. Everything had class and high quality (i.e. catalogues, stands, guests of honour). Interestingly, most of my clients and buyers were non-Russians." Diana Drapkin - Artige Gallery
" A really top-quality and successful fair. I was very happy for
my artists and for my gallery, with 6 sales to new clients." Mikalea Himmelström - Svenska Konstgalleriet
"A truly outstanding and well-organised fair. Our top selling artist Eva Adams sold 7 floral works, including the much
admired 'Summer Ball' painting at the show. We have many clients to contact with follow up calls. Very knowledgeable customers were in attendance. The high quality of the event and general ambiance
were conducive to good business. People are already asking about next year's exhibition and are requesting
tickets in advance." Anastasiya Gallery
"Definitely the most enjoyable fair I have taken part in. Always busy with a very diverse crowd."
Rupert Smith - Rupert Smith Textiles
"The Fair was successful and we sold 5 pieces by Inese Brants. I made a lot of new contacts."
Steven Sherman - Sherman & Partners

"The Private View was particularly successful and
the Fair was 'buzzing' with the presence of many art enthusiasts and
dignitaries. I can see the Fair becoming one of the major events in the UK
art calendar for the future." Andrew Hillier - Fine Art UK
"People are all being very careful with their money, but I sold 7 paintings and 3 drawings, making some very promising new private and trade clients - a
successful fair." John Barkes
"Ko Ferenc has ways been popular with collectors in Hungary, but we
didn't expect such an enthusiastic welcome from Londoners. The crowds
at the fair all wanted to have a look at the glow in the dark
paintings at our stand but sadly not enough room for all at once, with
guests having to form an orderly queue." Paul Tran - CAW (Collective Arts Worldwide)
"We are very pleased with our success at the fair - our first major
exhibition in the UK. We sold 6 paintings and received lots of positive
feedback." Fine Art Gallery Paintings
"World-arts enjoyed a spectacular show at the Park Lane Hotel Ballroom, with
paintings by Georgian artist Vladimir Gobozov proving as popular as ever." Stephen Ballard - World Arts
